Previous Builds: the Essex Waterways "Buddy Buster"
Puchased with support from the UK National Lottery Awards for All scheme, Chelmer Canal Trust and Essex Waterways, the "Buddy Buster" currently operates on the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation collecting litter and weed. A special feature of this Buddy is the bow loading ramp, which allows equipment to be wheeled on and off the vessel directly from a river bank or floating pontoon.
This vessel's collecting capability has far exceeded all of our working assumptions regarding the quantity of litter and weed that can be collected safely in a given amount of time.Mr Roy Chandler, Chair of Essex Waterways
Previous Builds: ABP Grimsby "Sea Eagle"
Delivered early 2008, this Buddy primarily operates within Grimsby and Immingham docks, performing debris collection, cargo carrying and oil-spill response. The vessel is equipped with heavy duty 5" fendering, and is moved between sites on the custom-built Buddy road trailer.
